About

Forge Dam Café is just ten minutes’ drive from Sheffield City Centre, on the border of the Peak District. From the café, you can easily access cycle paths and bridleways, with circular walks and tracks through the local countryside. There is a children’s playground and park area, surrounded by woods.

There’s also the dam itself, with seating where you can enjoy the sunshine and watch the ducks.

Friends of Porter Valley

We support the Friends of Porter Valley (FOPV), a charity that has been set up to conserve Forge Dam Park and several other important natural areas in the south Sheffield area. In the past, FOPV has been instrumental in getting £80,000 funding for repairs to the café. Today, they are raising money to dredge the dam. Build-up of silt has led to in the dam getting shallower and shallower, so now there is barely a few feet of water. Once the funds have been raised, the dam can be returned to it’s former depth and glory. Visit their site to find out more, or donate.

Our suppliers

We want to make sure that our food and drink is as good as it can be, so we use the best quality ingredients. We also believe that using local suppliers and buying British is important: it makes better food, and supports our excellent specialist industries.

Below are just a few of our suppliers. If you know that your product is in the café, just let us know and we’ll make sure you are featured.
